You can take photos remotely if you attach the Nano to an iPhone then use a typical wireless Bluetooth remote (the same kind that you use for your smartphone camera).

It can be used by itself. You have to charge it first and put a micro sd card in it but it does work alone.

I been successful but you need to make sure the settings are right. My friend was using and set the fish eye which is not what they wanted.

Note that the 3040x1520 pixels is "stretched" to create the 360 viewing sphere, so you will see some pixellation. This camera's auto stitching is excellent, however.

For this price, this is an excellent 360 camera. The most important thing is its small convenience. High quality images and videos, although I hope that things in the distance are clearer. The video is very good, but for some reason, when you take a real photo, you have to stay still for about 2 seconds. This makes shooting anything that is annoying (it becomes blurry). I am not an expert, so I don't understand why I can activate the video immediately and continue shooting, but the image does not. My biggest complaint is how hot it is. It will become very hot when you use it for more than 5 minutes, as if you are afraid that it will explode (it never). This is the only one that has been used 360. I want to keep my safety with a cheaper unit. I don't regret my choice.

This thing is insane. I have taken it to Miami Heat games and Europe and it just changes the way we take pictures. The 360 experience is great but new to a lot of people. This is a great little product with high quality and comes with a tiny velvet bag, get a case to better protect it. Please be careful with the lenses and they stick out, if you lay it down, they will get scratched this. I keep mine in that little bag while I take it around, but if I pack it it goes into its case.

I have more cameras than I can count (5D2, 7D, M, M2, S100, GoPro4S, to name a few), yet I decided to purchase a Insta360 Nano for my business trip to London this summer. I even paid extra to purchase from a 3rd party just so I could have it in time. After spending a week in London with it, my verdict is this - this is probably the best $240 for camera equipment I've spent! Insta360 Nano is so easy to use - basically one button operation. Easier than GoPro. Once you put in MicroSD card (I use a 64GB), you can shoot without it being attached to your iPhone. It uses 2x 210-degree lenses to stick together a 360-degree image, almost magic-like. I could not imagine it worked better. When I walked around London with it taking photos and video, I was stopped several times with people asking me what this is. When I showed them the 360 images, I can see their jaws drop! Once Insta360 is connected to my iPhone 6 Plus, it automatically downloads the images to your phone. You can then export / post the 360 picture to Facebook. Facebook automatically detects this being a 360-degree image, and activates the 360 viewer where your friends can turn their phones and see your environment. It's just like they are there with me! (well almost). Many friends asked me how I did it. Between Facebook and ad-hoc demos in London, I think I sold more than 10 Insta360s to my friends and random people. After coming home I attached the phone to my VR goggle (basically a plastic Google Cardboard) and here I am, in my kitchen, reliving London in all its 360-degree glory!!! I was amazing how much I would have missed taking a picture from just one angle, even though I also have my EOS M2 with a 11mm lens on it. However, I did still take many hundreds of pics on the M2 (great camera btw) just because the Insta360 image quality just isn't as good as M2 with its APS-C sensor. But for what it does, it does so well. I'm so glad I purchased it for the trip because now I have memories of London - Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Trafalgar Square, British Museum, Buckingham Palace - all in 360. I can't remember the last time I spent about $200 for a lens or an accessory and had as much fun with it. Get it as soon as you can!! (My sample images doesn't do the 360 pictures justice, but trust me, when posted onto FB it takes on a whole new dimension.)

I bought this with skepticism and waited a long time to get it. I was tracking the order and took a free shipping option. The whole free shipping when you have Prime won't sell with me. Now the camera.... I have two other 360 degree cameras. So this is the 3rd one. I am giving it 5 stars for the ease of use. Just plug in to your IPhone and you are good to go. As I have used Bubl Cam and another camera I know that ease of use is very important. So 5 stars there Live Shows..no other camera offers that. Hardly any Live Broadcasting sites offers this facility. It works on YouTube. But let me tell ya... Insta is taking a bold baby step. The video is there on my Youtube page. The resolution is horrible and hardly anyone can understand what I am saying as the audio started breaking up. I tried Ustream.. the stream works but Ustream cannot handle 360 videos. These guys say Facebook.. hmmm I don't know how can one use this camera to do a live show on Facebook. The major problem I faced with facebook was, I tried to post the images on facebook and it just didn't work.. Facebook as is won't take a 360 image they take panoramic pictures from IPhone. To upload a 360 image we should tell facebook using Exif tool the image is 360. I did that for Bubl Cam images and it worked but for Insta images naaa it put two images from two sides and it looks horrible. I recorded some videos and uploaded them to YouTube. They look far better than any videos with other cameras. So there is my review. The issues I told were all easily fixable except doing live shows on Facebook.. I really don't know when that will happen. Keep up the good work guys.. I will be contacting the support to get live broadcasting code on Insta Site.

I bought nano because a friend of mine recommended it to me. Just received it several days ago. So far it works perfect and I just love the way to play with my photos! Despite the fact that this is the first time for me to ever use a 360 camera, here are some of my thoughts on it: Pros: 1. It can work independently or on your iPhone depending on your needs. Personally, I find it convenient to use with iPhone. That way I get to edit the pictures and share them right away. 2. It tells me how much space it has used. A good reminder for me to clear the memory card in time. 3. The quality of pictures and videos are actually quite good! 4. The texture feels nice in my hand. Besides, the appearance design is just as good as I can expect. Cons: 1.My phone battery seems to run out faster when attached to nano. 2.The phone has to be turned upside down for nano to plug in. Kinda strange. Of course, it’s not perfect. But I never expected it to be. So far I think it has lived up to my expectations. Good job!

The image is good enough and it can go live on Facebook and YouTube. Some “360 cameras” at similar price are actually just lens, they either have no battery and cannot use without phones, or can work alone but cannot be controlled so easily with preview. So I say It’s a really worthy one.
