The hotel, the location, the food, the amenities are all of a high standard but the shining star of our trip was the blue team. Sexy Jules, Alexander, Kendall, Adela, Gracia, Brown Sugar and of course, Cheeky Baby stood out as absolute superstars! The amount of effort put in by these guys is astounding, theyre working long days in unbelievable heat and yet still have the energy to entertain and get everybody involved. Ill always treasure the day I was christened with a Mexican name :) The trip was set to be amazing but the blue team were the icing on the cake. Thank you so much! Nicholla & Juanito

Room: I stayed in a Privilege Honeymoon Maya Deluxe. The room was small but clean. There are no power outlets near the bed. I was in building 37, which was close to the beach and Privilege restaurants, both of which I appreciated. However, my room faced the resort next door, and it played very loud music. Not a big deal, but the peephole on the door was very high. It must have been placed by someone who is seven feet tall. Beach: This isn't a very swimmable beach, but that was fine by me. It's still pretty to look at and the employees cleaned up seaweed daily. I stayed on the privileged beach in a Bali bed during most waking hours. There was a nice beach butler and there was also food and drink service. Service: I found all of the resort staff to be friendly and helpful. As mentioned above, the beach service was better than I've seen at similar resorts. They do have shuttles that can drive you, but there are only one of two available. I had a knee issue and it was quite a walk to get to some of the restaurants. One night we got a ride to our dinner reservation, but then we were told it would be a 40 minute wait to get a ride back to the rooms. Another night it was very rainy and they said they couldn't even give an estimate on how long of a wait it would be, since evening was trying to get a ride. Room service was booked a couple of hours out. The grounds flooded and it was difficult to walk anywhere without walking through large pools of water. Food: Nothing was bad, but I didn't find anything the whole week that I thought was fantastic. Overall, I enjoyed my week and would return in the future.

This was our first visit to OMR. We were looking for a quiet, small adults only resort, and we found it. We book a privileged room. After reading reviews we found out that privileged rooms were mainly in the privilege building 1. We wanted to go to this resort as we enjoy the villa type buildings, the privileged building is not villa styled, it is more of a typical hotel style building. I emailed the resort a couple weeks before we travelled requesting a villa room, closer to the beach and pools. They accommodated us, we stayed in building 7, with a partial ocean view room. Our room was very quiet at night. Yes the rooms are a little dated, but very comfortable and the AC was top notch, we needed an extra blanket at night. The only complaints about the rooms would be lack of storage, ok for us but people staying more than a week it could be a problem, also the shower leaked in the bathroom, nothing major we put a towel on the leak and problem solved. We ordered room service a few times and it came in a timely manner and the portions were large. The restaurants were all good, we didnt go to the Oriental style one, but heard good things about it. The Buffett was good as well. Only complaint would be the scent that is pumped into the privilege section at the Buffett, it is way too strong. Anyone with allergies will find it a problem, we only sat there once. We enjoyed breakfast and most lunches in the privileged restaurant by the beach. Beautiful view of the ocean and nice and cool, pancakes were amazing. If anyone know the recipe please share :). Beach service was great, drinks, buckets of ice, water, food whatever we possibly needed was available and brought to us, even if we said no we well get it, it arrived. That is one of the perks of privilege, we had our own section of beach with sun beds, cabanas, towels etc. With privilege there is no chair/towel game, the beach butler or your own butler will reserve a spot for you. We didnt sit by the pools, so I cant comment on the service there. There was minimal seaweed on the beach or in the water, the beach was very nice. Yes people and children from the neighbouring resort use the beach, it public just like at home here, who really cares. The resort is smaller, and yes dated but not dilapidated in any way. Its very charming and clean, it is by far one of the cleanest resorts weve been to, we travel at least once a year, for 20 years. We absolutely loved the no smoking laws, we witnessed staff asking people to butt out or leave. Big applause to the resort for this. Drinks were good, again privileged we had access to the middle shelf alcohol, not top shelf, thats for members. We simply cannot say enough about the staff, they are kind, welcoming, friendly and look like they really want to help you and truly like their jobs. Ok maybe not the one woman in the buffet that was the greeter, short hair dont know her name, she was not warm and fuzzy to us on any day. We watched the music show, cheesy and practicable and the fire show, which we left early as we have seen it at other resorts. We arent nightlife people, we vacation for the day not the night, we can do that at home. So if youre looking for a party place, this is not it. Fabian was our butler, this man is a real gem. He greeted us when we arrived, which was late, came to our room with us, showed us everything we needed and stayed in constant contact with us all week. Anything we needed to make our stay more comfortable, was a text away. Really Fabian is the best. The only cons about the resort are, no bath tub, but thats a personal preference of ours, lots of steps and uneven thresholds along walkways in the lobby areas, ok for us but could see it being a bit of a hazard for elderly or someone thats had one too many. When we go back again we will definitely upgrade again to privilege, to us it was worth the extra money. We would highly recommend this resort to people who want to rest and unplug, although the internet is really good for streaming or having to check in at work:( Thank you OMR staff for a pleasant, relaxing vacation

We loved this resort! I have been here twice so far and we will be back. The resort isn't too big, but more than big enough, no little kids, nice pools amazing food and great service. The room was clean and tidy and we loved sitting on the balcony with a beverage after being at the beach for the day. They do their best to keep some of the beach clear of the ever present seaweed these days, and I was always able to pop in the ocean when I wanted to. I agree with some others that the heavy iron pot lids at the buffet are very odd and not user friendly, and another solution should be looked into - but the food is amazing:)

This was our first stay at an all-inclusive resort and let me tell you it was an amazing experience and far exceeded our expectations. We cautiously traveled to OMR based on the outstanding recommendation of a friend as they were planning their repeat visit to OMR within a six month timeframe. My wife and I were not sure what to expect, but the entire staff at OMR appeared to not want to be outdone by any other resort. The customer service from the entire staff from check-in to check-out was spot-on, they were attentive and when possible included a personal touch. I would be remiss if I did not mention the star of the resort, Mr. Kendal-icious from the blue team! This young man is a large reason this resort has so many loyal and repeat guests. His unique ability to connect with everyone at the resort (worldwide clientele) was quite impressive. His energy, ability to include everyone regardless of the activity, and most of all his genuine friendliness and kindness was quite remarkable. OMR would be wise to keep him as happy as he keeps their guests! There were other stars at the resort and I would also like to recognize them for their efforts here: the pool bar stars were Miguel and Ebher; Sports Bar star was Crostobel who learned how to make a "La Batanga" just for me and then never let a glass not be filled with one; others stars notably on the blue team were Andrea, Adela, Grecia, Jules, Alexander, and Margarita; Buffet staff star was Carla. The OMR room was comfortable, clean, and more than sufficient for the little amount of time we spent in it. OMR has so many activities and things to do throughout the day and evening that it was a non-issue for us. We will definitely be returning to OMR in the near future and look forward to seeing if the staff can top this amazing vacation with their limitless energy and enthusiasm.
